Your First Hyperbaric Session Should Feel Simple, Calm, and Clear
Trying something new can bring a lot of questions. What does the chamber feel like? How long does it take? What should you wear? Will it feel uncomfortable? What happens after the session?
At Fresh Start Hyperbaric, we walk you through the process before you begin so there are no surprises. Most clients find sessions relaxing once they understand what to expect.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is non-invasive. During the session, you relax inside a pressurized chamber while breathing concentrated oxygen. Many clients read, rest, listen to music, or nap during treatment.
How to Prepare for Your Session
A little preparation helps your session go smoothly. We’ll answer your questions when you arrive, but these simple guidelines are helpful before your first appointment.
Wear Comfortable Clothing
Wear clean, loose cotton clothing. Avoid anything tight, restrictive, or uncomfortable so you can relax during the session.
Skip Certain Products
Avoid cosmetics, perfumes, deodorants, wigs, jewelry, or scented products before your session.
Avoid Alcohol and Carbonated Drinks
Hyperbaric therapy is intended to support oxygen flow and absorption. Avoid alcohol or carbonated drinks for at least four hours before treatment.
Limit Tobacco Use
Smoking and tobacco products can interfere with the body’s ability to transport oxygen. If possible, avoid tobacco during your treatment period.
During Your Appointment
What the Session Feels Like
Most sessions are quiet and comfortable. The main sensation people notice is temporary pressure in the ears as the chamber pressurizes and depressurizes.
